National Rum Day at Fairmont Century Plaza

Celebrate National Rum Day on Aug. 16, with a special ‘Havana Night’ at Century City’s new luxury Fairmont Century Plaza lobby bar. Seoulmates fast casual Korean fusion

Seoulmates in West Hollywood is a new spot to get a KBBQ fix without driving to Koreatown. Korean American Christina Hong prepares a menu of items featuring authentic traditional Korean flavors with Californian favorites. Chef Vick Vannucci’s fast-casual restaurant Pachamama on the Venice Beach boardwalk, is having a grand opening celebration on Aug. 12 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The festivities begin with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and the first 50 guests will receive a complimentary vegan taco. It’s served in a crispy green corn tortilla and filled with organic greens, cherry tomatoes, Peruvian salsa criolla, aguacate, amarillo sauce and black beans. Small bites of anticuchos will also be passed for guests to sample. Travis Wolf from Bee Leaf USA, a humane honeybee rescue company, will bring an observational hive and offer complimentary honey lollipops and honey samples. Uncle Morty’s Haus Burger

Emmy-award winning TV and YouTube personality Chef Sam Zien – “Sam the Cooking Guy” – is collaborating with Dog Haus to launch the Uncle Morty burger. It’s an all-beef patty with white American cheese, mustard-grilled pastrami complimented by dill pickles, caramelized onions and garlic aioli. It’s perfectly stacked between a grilled King’s Hawaiian Roll. This limited-time item is available at Dog Haus locations nationwide now through Sept. 30. Join the second cooking class and dining experience led by Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills executive chefs. On Aug. 16 and 17, explore the Best of O’Shaughnessy Winery with a thoughtfully paired six-course tasting menu at both BOA Sunset and BOA Santa Monica.
